Whether you’re visiting for ice fishing, boating or paddle boarding, the resort is right on Gull Lake so you’ll have access to do it all! We enjoyed just watching the sunset over the lake since we were in between seasons.Excitement quickly builds when you arrive at Grand View Resort, with its postcard-perfect lodge and Gull Lake glittering through Paul Bunyan-sized pines. When you’re on vacation, you want to feel like you’re taken care of and the staff definitely made us feel that way! 8. The staff working the bike rentals also took the time to share route options so we’d have a fun and safe experience biking into Nisswa. The staff could not have been kinder or more willing to go above and beyond to make our stay memorable! From the woman working in the evenings at North Hotel who called to find us a bonfire space that was open to the young man who brough us extra wood to keep the bonfire going to the breakfast attendants – everyone was so polite. They have axe-throwing, beer tasting and an outdoor stage for events!ħ. Grand View is also only a 5-minute drive from the fabulous Roundhouse Brewery which recently moved to its new location in Nisswa. We stopped en route at Wildflower Chocolste a don’t miss this stop! It’s handmade, local chocolate and is so delicious. We opted to bike there on rentals from Grand View which took about 25 minutes on neighborhood roads. I’d recommend grabbing a pizza from Rafferty’s and a scone + coffee from Stonehouse Coffee. Grand View Lodge is only a few minutes’ drive from the main area of Nisswa, which is filled with shopping and dining options. It costs $100 to reserve which is applied against your final bill. Most recently, Grand View Lodge has added fun igloos you can dine in as well! They look so beautiful and sit right outside of Northwoods Pub. It’s also a great way to fuel up for a day of activities. Our stay included breakfast and we loved ordering fresh omelets with potatoes, fruit, smoked salmon and sweets each morning.
If you don’t feel like cooking breakfast, opt in for the buffet.
You also have options – from Northwoods Pub (highly recommend the falafel wrap!), to pizza delivery right to your cabin/hotel to a steakhouse. That is not the case at Grand View! The prices are super reasonable and the food is delicious. Oftentimes, resort dining prices are high because they know you’re already on site. Plus, Grand View Lodge guests receive a discount! Thanks to Mt. We saw plenty of skiers and snowboarders too if you want to spend a day on the slopes. The staff made sure everyone was having fun and the hill was safe. Ski Gull has the longest tubing hill in Minnesota! There’s a moving walkway so it’s super easy to get back to the top of the hill. Ski Gull! We visited at the tail end of the season and had a great time snow tubing. If you visit in the winter, a highlight of the area is Mt. You’ll likely want more than a weekend like we booked to enjoy all these amenities in your Grand View Lodge getaway! 4. Other activities you can pay extra for include golf and spa time. We visited in the Spring and loved renting bikes to bike into Nisswa, taking the horse drawn wagon ride and enjoying s’mores by the bonfire at the end of the day.

The amount of activities included at Grand View Lodge is amazing! Depending on the season, you could snowshoe, ice skate, cross-country ski, paddleboard, swim (in the lake or pool), use the hot tub, go biking, enjoy a horse drawn wagon ride and wrap your day up with free s’mores by the bonfires.
The common spaces at North Hotel were also beautifully decorated but functional with spaces to hang out with friends and family, dine or watch a sporting event. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept on! We kept our door open a little bit for fresh air and I slept like a baby. The details are fun from the books on the bookshelf to the artwork on the walls. The rooms are Scandinavian influenced and so well decorated. We loved staying in the new (less than 2 years old!) North Hotel. Whether you’re visiting for a couples’ getaway, girlfriend trip or family reunion, there are lodging options from standalone cabins to a boutique hotel. It’s the best feeling like you’ve gotten far away without having to spend so much time in the car! 2. As soon as we stepped out of the car, we could smell how fresh the air is, thanks to the towering pine trees all over the property. We left on a Friday after work and still made it up before sunset. Getting to Grand View Lodge only takes ~2 hours from the Twin Cities.
